Prior to treatment we take a full case history including medicalinformation, followed by a physical exam of your posture and movement. Please bring any x-rays, scans (with reports) and specialist letters that relate to the area of pain.

Treatment is best performed on skin but can be performed over clothing. Attire suitable for light exercise – shorts, t-shirt or singlet for females is ideal. There may be times where it is necessary to expose areas of skin for medical assessment or treatment, but at all times our patient’s comfort and wellbeing is of paramount importance. At the end of the sessions there should be opportunity to discuss issues regarding lifestyle, diet and exercise.

Please come in clothes you feel comfortable. It is ideal that you are free to move and clothing give access to painful areas. On occasions an Osteopath may ask you to adjust or remove an item of clothing, but this is entirely to your discretion and treatment can be performed through clothing if need be.

Allow approx. 1 hour for the initial assessment, but follow up sessions typically last 30 and 40 minutes.

Any treatment can lead to a short-term exacerbation of symptoms and may cause residual soreness, so allow appropriate rest for optimal recovery. Drink plenty of fluids and avoid vigorous activity to aid recovery and allow time for a good treatment response. If you feel concerned at any point following treatment do not hesitate to contact us.

Treatment depends upon your condition and a course of treatment can vary but is usually between 3 and 5 sessions. Be aware that chronic conditions can take longer. We do encourage some exercise rehabilitation as pain reduces to prevent future relapse.

Treatment prices can vary… but you will typically be charged £55 for your initial consultation and £45 for follow up treatments.
Osteopathy is frequently covered by major insurance companies. We do not presently deal with insurers directly so please consult with your provider for details.ver clothing.
